Thanks for writing this! I’ve noticed so much focus on the occult and right wing since the rise of qanon, and honestly I think social media algorithms have a lot to do with it. Jules Evans and the “Conspirtuality” podcasters began with an interesting focus but now it all seems slanted towards cultural and ideological national battle lines.

Consider; if you write about the occult, psychology, and religion you have a very small audience, but pepper those articles with either side of the political isle and you have a huge new batch of folks sharing your content, maybe even making you famous.

Like you, I have found most occult movements broad, but they all tend towards “civilization building” movements so it seems natural that different movements would find different outlets politically.
