Okay I think we are on the same page there. But why do you classify astrology as pseudoscience ,for the same reason? It is also a pre scientific system, and may hold some social or cultural benefits as most societies evolved with them even if they do not have any explanatory power.
I’m not an astrologer or into astrology so pls don’t take this as a defense of astrology per se; it’s more to do with your own acknowledgment that the term “pseudoscience” is a pejorative (or at least predominately used as such) and how society adopts such language, especially as amplified by online media, could actually have an adverse effect on any potential rational inquiry into any number of subjects. I suppose my view here is that this word “pseudoscience” is itself a term within the philosophy of science and I believe it should be used with greater care than it often is, because this one word contains within itself the communication of science and all too often misses that mark to look down and project a bias onto another cultures viewpoints.
