I always like to apply the ol Robert Anton Wilson "some but not all" application. Sure, some men idealize women to be subservient, and some woman idealize men to be otherwise.
Remember, this is about apply resolution to where there is conflict, and where there is conflict there will always be "thesis vs thesis" back and forth arguments ad nauseum.
And nature created both resolving dialectics as well as roles between men and women and mating.
So introduce the resolution and let nature take it from there, I can assure you when it comes to mating, men will always adopt the ladies preference and choice when power is shared, not fought over. Power is only shared in a resolving environment, and not possible in any other.
