I admire your compassionate approach, the mind meld as you call it. And assuming that part of that package IS Ukraine joining NATO, it may be reasonable sounding to an outsider.

Question is will that be the case? Because then the world would be capitulating to an invasion and seizure of land and rewarding them for it. If there is no NATO on the border, then Putin would attack again, taking even another smaller piece.
