Hiya. Thanks for writing a very thoughtful article. I will tell you that there is also another side to this story you share. I myself am a white male who has had not one but two significant relationships in my life who have been Asian American women. Of course I was drop dead attracted to them, but not any more or less than I have been with other ladies I’ve been fortunate to date.

Anyway, I had the reverse phobia you do, that everyone around me would think that my relationship was some sort of “Asian fetish” and yes, I had a few of my friends who would say things like “oh u have an Asian fetish” which would really if infuriate me beyond measure, having that assumption that, just because you are a white male dating an Asian woman, you must have some sort of Asian fetish.

It still bothers me to this day. Sharing pictures of my ex I know will elicit these kind of assumptions
