Ahh, okay good I’m glad you asked this because I suppose there is the same distinction with “astrology” as a “folk art” or even fair to call it folk “psychology” (I’m using psychology in a soft sense, not academic) that is thousands of years old, and then there is some in modern times who may argue those folk arts as causal to events (instead of corollary, as they evolved) which would then make them “pseudoscience” proper (using the Popper definition).
Do you see the distinction there like I do?
Edit: also by “rational inquiry “ I do not mean to research if astrology has any predictive power! But you do see how learning about astrology as an ancient cultural and social function could tell us plenty anthropologically as well as psychologically about human nature and our own minds. It would also lead us to view astrology how an entire different culture and worldview would look at it. That is all “rational inquiry”.
